Stewdio
Stewdio is an art practice, a code house, and a graphic design studio in London. Originally founded in Brooklyn NY, they are now located in London, England. Their heroes range from Douglas Engelbart to Josef Müller-Brockmann to David Bowie and beyond. They have an aesthetic of flatness and are a bit suspicious of glossiness. They don’t do fake cut-and-paste. (That’s not real punk.) They don’t do visual complexity for its own sake. (They prefer simple.) They primarily make deadpan, playful things and exhibition pieces. Stewdio thrives on collaboration, expanding and contracting as necessary. They’ve greatly enjoyed working with Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Warning Office, ZKM Center for Art and Media, and many more. Their work has appeared in various exhibitions and festivals in New York, London, Paris, Brussels, Munich, and so on.
